Video Podcast Production

Video podcast production, built as a system.

One recording day in our studio becomes a month of content. Hero episode, platform clips, audio master, transcript — not one long video nobody finishes.

What is video podcast production?

Video podcast production is the filming, recording and editing of an episodic interview or discussion format for both audio and video distribution. DOT Video Agency produces video podcasts from a purpose-built studio in Uithoorn, fifteen minutes from Schiphol, for B2B thought leadership, founder-led content and customer interview series.

The economics only work when a session is treated as a content system rather than an episode. A single multi-cam recording produces the hero episode, clip-ready cuts, an audio master and a full transcript. That distinction separates one of the highest-return content investments a B2B brand can make from one of the most expensive ways to produce a single asset.

The short version

Why most branded podcasts die at episode six

Because they were treated as recordings rather than as a system. Someone books a room, points a camera at two people, publishes an hour-long video nobody finishes. Effort per asset is enormous, return is invisible, and it quietly stops.

Treated properly, one multi-cam session produces the hero episode, six to eight clips cut for LinkedIn, an audio master and a full transcript. Your marketing team schedules a month off one recording day. That is the whole difference.

The other thing that separates a podcast that works: editorial pressure before you record. What the argument is. Where it lands. What the guest is actually qualified to say. We push hard on that, and it makes people noticeably better interviewers by about episode three.

What one session produces

Deliverables from a single recording session
Asset Format What it is for
Hero episode 16:9, full length YouTube, website, podcast platforms
Clip cuts 9:16 and 1:1, 6—8 per session LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok
Audio master Podcast platforms Spotify, Apple Podcasts
Transcript Text Accessibility, SEO, and indexable text for AI retrieval

Transcripts are worth more than they look. They are indexed text, which means an episode becomes findable and citable rather than sitting in a video file nothing can read.

Been meaning to start a podcast for two years?

Most people have. Twenty minutes will tell you whether the format actually suits your business or whether you would be making it for yourself.

The studio

Our studio sits in Uithoorn, fifteen minutes from Schiphol and twenty from central Amsterdam. It houses a purpose-built video podcast setup designed for multi-cam capture with broadcast-grade audio, alongside an in-house edit suite and colour grading room.

Practically, that means you concentrate on the conversation rather than on whether the audio is working. Guests are welcome on site, and clients are welcome to visit before committing to anything.

What podcast production costs

Video podcast production from DOT costs €2.500–€10.000 per session. Most clients run monthly and treat it as an ongoing content line rather than a project.

What moves it:

  1. Recording frequency. Monthly is the most common cadence and the most economical per asset.
  2. Episode length and edit complexity.
  3. Number of clips per session. The main lever on cost per asset.
  4. Whether you record in our studio or on location. On location costs more.
  5. Editorial support. Structure and question development, or recording only.

Turnaround

A recorded session is delivered within 2–8 days, with the hero episode and the clip package together so a month can be scheduled at once.

One thing to plan for: guest booking sits with you. We do not currently handle outreach or scheduling for guests, and it is the thing that constrains a podcast calendar. Worth deciding who owns it before you start.

How it actually works

  1. Twenty-minute call. You talk to Tijmen or Jesper. Not an account manager, because there isn’t one. Twenty minutes is enough to know whether this fits.
  2. We dig in. Interviews with your team, and your customers where it matters. We come back with a direction, not a menu of three safe options.
  3. We plan for every output at once. Every format is blocked at storyboard. 16:9 and 9:16 together. Language variants designed in before the shoot, not bolted on after.
  4. We shoot. Directed by one of the owners. Small crew, on purpose, so the people in front of the camera behave like themselves.
  5. We finish it in-house. Edit, grade, sound and original score. Two structured feedback rounds, clearly defined, so you never end up in a revision spiral.
  6. You get the whole system. Not one file. The hero asset plus everything your channels actually need, in the formats they actually need.

Podcast work

Rompslomp — an episodic format with a no-pitch rule

One production rule carries this format: no product pitch, ever, written into the brief rather than left to judgement. Rules that cannot be quietly broken in month seven are what keep episodic content credible past the launch enthusiasm. Recorded on a fixed monthly cadence, each session shipping the episode plus a full set of platform cuts.

Questions we get asked

Do you have your own studio?

Yes, in Uithoorn, fifteen minutes from Schiphol. Purpose-built for multi-cam capture with broadcast-grade audio, alongside our edit suite and grading room. You are welcome to come and see it before committing to anything.

Do you help with booking guests?

No, and it is worth knowing up front. Guest outreach and scheduling stay with you, and it constrains a podcast calendar more often than production capacity does. Decide who owns it before episode one.

How many episodes can we record in a day?

Depends on the format and your guests’ availability, but recording two or three in a single day is common and considerably more economical than three separate sessions. We will map a realistic cadence at scoping.

Do you handle distribution and publishing?

No. We deliver the episode, the clips, the audio master, the transcript and the graphics. Publishing to platforms, scheduling and audience growth stay with your team.

Can we record remotely or on location?

On location, yes — we travel regularly. Fully remote recording is possible but the quality gap is real, and for a format that is meant to demonstrate credibility it undercuts the point.

What if we are not sure we can sustain it?

Then say so at the scoping call and we will talk you through the realistic effort. A podcast that stops at episode six is worse than not starting, and we would rather tell you that in twenty minutes than six months in.
